City of Corinth was an important trans-shipment port city of ancient Greece with much trade and people passing through from all parts of the Roman Empire. Greek idol worship and philosophical teachings were strong in its culture. Apostle Paul brought the gospel of Christ to this large metropolis about AD 50-51 and a church was established as a result.
